  1. Awesome, you're back online!

    1) This IEM looks great. How much does it cost? How is the distortion? BTW, it also shows what a bargain the MH755 is.

    2) Thanks to your earlier report, I got myself several Sony MH755 and MH750 earphones. There is quite some variation between units. I even managed to get a few fakes that measure very differently. One of the genuine units measures just like your MH755, but with that one you can hear the diaphragm bottoming out--that crinkling sound. Another one doesn't do that and it's only +5 dB at 100 Hz, relative to 1 kHz. I think that's how it's supposed to sound.

    3) The 2017 Harman Target for IEMs is out. When you block the vents on the "properly working" MH755, it's very close to that target. By blocking the vents, I mean covering the seam between the pieces and sealing the both places where the cable emerges from the rear cup. It can be done temporarily with putty like Blu Tack. It sounds really good.

    1. 1) it costs about 30 dollars but has discontinued now. I lost this pair so I can not measure distortion and impedance :(

2,3) Thanks for the great information! Didn't know that there is some sound variation.
Good to hear that MH755 has a high possibility of tuning. My MH755 was broken a few months ago though...

    2. Very informative stuff from both. To my knowledge, MH750 and MH755 have different FR, not just length of cable.

I bought an SBH24 which is bundled with an MH755 (short cable). Love the euphonic sound but the left driver crinkles when I adjust the housing in my ear. So, I'm looking for a few replacement MH755s. May I know the seller on eBay you bought the genuine MH755?

      Thank you.

    3. I bought them from eBay user spassear. That was more than a year ago--November 2017--so I don't know if they have any good ones left. I wrote a review of the MH755 at head-fi.org last week, putting together the notes that I had gathered over the past year. It write-up out to be a lot longer than I had hoped. Lol. TL;DR version: I like the MH755.

    4. Ah. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, spassear on ebay no longer has an MH755 listing so I will have to look elsewhere. Yes, I figured you also wrote the head-fi review but didn't want to assume as much. Loved the extensive comparisons with the Harman target curve and other earphones. In particular, the Quadbeat 3 AKG seem a good approximation of MH755 with the convenience of a longer cable.

Living in Asia here and on Taobao you can get the white/orange MH755 for as low as 15 yuan (USD$2.2) per pair excluding delivery cost. But as you stated in the 'cons' section, authenticity is questionable not to mention if the QC is up to par. A better bet would be a new SBH24 for USD$20 which is still worth it.

Wish to see more reviews especially those dirty cheap yet good ones. I am switching between MH755 and Fostex TE-02WP over at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fostex-TE-02WP-W-Water-Resistant-In-Ear-Headphones-White/401539056479?hash=item5d7d97c35f:g:BI0AAOSw9Nha~W9J for only GBP5. Note, they only deliver to UK. It has a rather neutral signature but so value-for-money. Waterproof and moddable as well. The variant TE-02n has been modded and detailed on SBAF.

    5. Correction: LG Quadbeat 3 not the subsequent AKG revision which is less bassy

    6. I have mh755, mh1c and new sonicast mk2, mk2 plus, jdr-100, azla hirizon, all based on SF driver. No compassion, Sonicast is much, much better every aspect. More highs, clear mids, not bummy lows
