I'm curious what you think of the preliminary Harman inear target http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/aes-headphone-technology-conference-stuff-possibly-useful-headphone-enthusiasts From a quick look it seems LG Quadbeat 3 is pretty close.
ReplyDeleteI can't make a conclusion becuase I didn't read that thesis yet, but according to IF's explanation that bass target is a little bit excessive compensation in Hi-Fi perspective, I think. Also I can't understand why top-highs (10k~20k) is extremely reduced like that.
Deletethe explanation is to avoid fatigue but they remove the air and fine details in the treble
DeleteOlive does class leading work but they're preference, not accuracy tests.
DeleteI believe they ignored the responce above 10kHz due to uncertainty of accuracy. Perhaps the bass target will go down with more tests using different IEMs.
DeleteI recently EQ'd my Quadbeat 3 (Coretek, vent-blocked) to the Harman target using your measurements: http://i.imgur.com/z70WCnV.png Bass levels seem reasonable to me. ¯\_ツ_/¯
DeleteThat looks decent. Thanks for sharing that.
DeleteThanks for your measurements. ;) I'm enjoying the QB3 a lot, they sound very transparent. Only issue is that I lose the seal sometimes.
